Can I have my library workshop badge?

The CCSF Library provides Online Library Workshops in support of the information competency requirement at CCSF. Students can provide evidence of completion to their instructors with a badge (from Canvas), or certificate (from a CCSF Librarian), provided the workshop was passed within the last 3 semesters.

Answer

At the end of each workshop, learners may earn a badge that is labeled with their CCSF email address and workshop title (provided they have achieve the minimum passing score). The student CCSF Canvas account contains all completed online workshop badges from the current semester.

To access badges and provide evidence for workshops with a successful passing score for the current semester,

  • click the “Badges” link in course navigation bar (on the left side of the Canvas page), and
  • take screenshots of your badge(s) or your Grades page to share with your instructor.

You can also see the workshops you've completed in your Grades page in the 'Library Research Skills' Canvas course.

Note: badges from previous semesters will not show. A completion slip may be requested if the workshop was passed within the last 3 semesters. Contact a CCSF librarian for a workshop completion slip. In your completion slip request, make sure to include:

  • your name,
  • student ID number, and
  • the semester you completed the workshop.

Note: librarians are able to respond to completion slip requests during open hours.
