How do I renew my library materials?

Circulating library materials can be renewed once for an additional three-week loan period. Textbooks (course reserves) and technology items (Windows laptops, Chromebooks, and Wi-Fi Hotspots) cannot be renewed.

Answer

Provided you are registered for classes, some library materials may be renewed if no one else has requested the item. CCSF Library items do not automatically renew. You can either renew them yourself (if the items can be renewed) in your online library account (detailed below), or you can contact the CCSF Library for a renewal.

  1. Visit your library account login page.

    • Select 'RAM ID Login' if you are a CCSF student or employee.

    • Select 'Community Card Login' if you are a Community Card holder.

  2. Sign in with your login information.

  3. After successfully signing in, you can see a dashboard with an overview of your account.

  4. Click into the Loans section.

  5. Click Renew All to renew all items. Individual items may be renewed by clicking on Renew for each item.

  6. Confirm that the item has been renewed on the next screen. Items cannot be renewed if they have been requested by other students, or when we have reached the end of the semester term.

Textbooks (course reserves) and technology items (Windows laptops, Chromebooks, and Wi-Fi Hotspots) cannot be renewed.

If you attempted a renewal in your library account and still need assistance renewing an item, please email us directly and be sure to include your full name and student ID number in your email.
