Can I place a request on a library item?

  • The library request process opens for students fully registered in classes one week before the semester begins.
  • Request queues (also known as waitlists) are cleared and paused between semesters.
  • Course reserves (such as textbooks) cannot be requested in advance and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Answer

To place a request on a library item:

  1. Use OneSearch on the library website to search for the item
  2. Click on the title of your item in the OneSearch result list
  3. Click "Sign In" and use your RAM ID credentials to log in
  4. Click the "Request" button
    • Note: Course reserves (aka textbooks) cannot be requested, therefore, no request button will appear. They are available on-site on a first come, first served basis.
  5. Select the location where you will pick up the item from the dropdown options and send the form.
  6. Check your CCSFmail account for updates on your request. There may be a delay in fulfilling your request, either due to staffing, or item availability.
    • You can check the progress of your library request in your Library Account.
