Can I place a request on a library item?
- The library request process opens for students fully registered in classes one week before the semester begins.
- Request queues (also known as waitlists) are cleared and paused between semesters.
- Course reserves (such as textbooks) cannot be requested in advance and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Answer
To place a request on a library item:
- Use OneSearch on the library website to search for the item
- If it is a Technology item, use our Borrowing Technology webpage
- Click on the title of your item in the OneSearch result list
- Click "Sign In" and use your RAM ID credentials to log in
- Click the "Request" button
- Note: Course reserves (aka textbooks) cannot be requested, therefore, no request button will appear. They are available on-site on a first come, first served basis.
- Select the location where you will pick up the item from the dropdown options and send the form.
- Check your CCSFmail account for updates on your request. There may be a delay in fulfilling your request, either due to staffing, or item availability.
- You can check the progress of your library request in your Library Account.
